The top of a sales funnel represents the initial stage in the customer journey, known as “awareness.” At this point, potential customers discover a brand or product. The funnel widens here, encompassing a broad audience. Key activities include raising awareness through advertising, content marketing, cold calls and emails.
The goal is to attract as many potential customers as possible and turn them into leads. As prospects move down the funnel, they progress through subsequent stages such as interest, desire and finally, action (where they convert into actual customers). Imagine it as the wide opening of the funnel where you cast a net to capture attention and introduce your offerings!
