He Learned Leverage Doesn’t Mean Lazy

You can automate nearly your entire online business, just not this one thing.  Focus on this one thing, automate the rest and up to $10k months may be in the bag for you.  Are you currently The Champion in your business that handles the marketing?  It’s one of the key things you don’t want to 100% pass on for others to handle for you.  As Peter Drucker says: “Your product needs a champion, someone who says. ‘I am going to make this succeed’ and then goes to work on it.”  As Peter Thiel says in his classic book, Zero to One: “If you don’t see any sales-people around, you’re the salesperson.”  This is because who should make the time if not you?  What does it say if a person is not willing to roll up their own sleeves and get to work here?

Who should or will be more invested in your business and life and personal success than you?  The cool part is?  Marketing something you’re passionate about is very fun and rewarding.  You can pass on the more boring non-essentials for others to handle for you bringing you more fun and profits along the way.  Is this making sense?

Now this doesn’t mean you can’t leverage.  In fact, far from it.  Focus on marketing, generating leads and you can nearly automate the entire process from lead to sales from there.  You can master one lead generation strategy such as FB ads for example.  There are several others that work well too.  You focus on that and pass these leads into a system that will follow up and handle the rest.  Cool?  I personally use the system below.

Getting sales is easy as pie if you get these 2 things right.  When it comes to growing an online business that you’d bet the farm on, most of all your success will come down to your offer and your audience.  Very little of your success will depend on your writing skills and marketing prowess.  Yet, there’s a lot of people that don’t consider who their audience is and who they want their audience to be.  Think you’d talk differently to a retiree that wants supplemental income and wants to spend more time with his grandkids than you would a college dropout or 20 something that’s tech savvy and wants to travel the world and party hard?

Of course.  The more you can drill down and talk to a specific audience, the more sales you’ll be rolling your way.  Who to target?  That’s up to you but looking at your own age, circumstances and desires are a good place to start, right?  Further, it helps to consider where this person is in their business and life as well.

Are they just experiencing symptoms right now and are beginning to look for a solution:

  • Overworked
  • No free time
  • Tired of alarm clocks
  • Little time for nice vacations
  • Hate their job and their cohorts

Or have they past the stage to wanting to build an online business and they want to focus on high ticket commissions and sales?  You’d 100% percent talk to these people differently depending on where they are at.  It’s the difference between meeting a girl at a bar who has never seen you before.  You give her the look and the nod.  You know the nod and look right?  She stares back at you confused and fully thinking you’re crazy.

Yet, imagine this guy sitting at home with his wife, he looks at her, gives her the look, sports a quick nod and says, “Hey, you wanna…?”  That’s all it takes.  Three words and she’s game because they’re at that point in their relationship.  That’s all it takes.  Is this making sense?

If someone knows, likes and trust you?  Maybe they’ve bought 2-3 things from you.  It won’t take much more than announcing a new product and they’re punching the buy now button.  You’re at the: “Hey, you wanna?” stage.  If they don’t know you from Adam, then you have to start the dance from there.  I hope this helps.

Try This Non Salesy Method If You Need More Income

Making sales is easy when you make this one shift in perspective.  Read Mike’s motto, there’s a popular TV show called American Pickers.  Two hometown boys travel the US, scavenging through dusty barns and dark attics unearthing lost gems.  I love Mike’s motto, one of the founders and stars of the show: “My motto in life is to find things and put them in their right place.”  This keeps his work rewarding, profitable and always ethical.

Here’s how, he may find a vintage motorcycle just gathering dust in someone’s garage year after year.  That motorcycle has a soul mate out there somewhere.  He views it as his job, to pick that item and connect it with the person that it was meant to be with.  It’s not all about the dollars to him.  The dollars are only a side effect to something much bigger.

It’s about a beautiful way to go about business, right?  In this little world of online business, the same thing applies in my humble but accurate opinion.  There are good folks out there and their dreams, their hopes, their ideal life they want to be experiencing.  It’s gathering dust in a basement.  They don’t see a way out of the j-o-b so they can go dust their dreams off and make them alive again.

If you have a vehicle that can help them out and be of value to them?  Then, it’s not selling anymore.  Like Mike, it’s having something of value to someone and finding the perfect home for it.  There’s no forcing or manipulation needed.

How To Get Daily Sales Without Credibility And Branding

Are you struggling to get your brand and sales off the ground?  Gaining credibility and trying to brand yourself is one of the worst places to start if you’re wanting more sales and successes online.  People who focus on this are struggling.  They may pay exorbitant fees for an expert to brand them and it usually means they’re making cardinal mistake #1: Focusing on themselves and their problems rather than focusing on others and their problems.

It makes you feel icky if you think that you have to pretend to be someone you’re not, right?  Think about this, there was a recent study done where people were asked whether they liked people that were too outgoing and loud, introverted and quiet or people that were fake.

The vast majority did not like the fake people.  The takeaway?  Don’t fake it till you make it.  There’s no need.  Be yourself and be authentic.  Share your journey.  When you’re yourself and people see you taking action, making investments in yourself and you’re sharing your successes, failures and learnings with them?

Try This Before You Get Fed Up Or Hit Rock Bottom

You’ll notice one common thing between every success story ever told.  Look at many people who’ve broke through and made big things happen in their lives and you’ll often hear things like:

  • “XYZ person gave me the kick in my pants needed to get my butt into gear.”
  • “I’d hit rock bottom, enough was enough.”
  • “I was so tired of my mundane, 9-5 life that if I had to turn off my alarm and drive through traffic to my dead end job one more day I’d prefer just to end it all now!”

No, think about this, where did their results come from?  In every case, it was in the action.  This is why I’m so focused on the action part and not so much what we’re feeling or whatever step comes before that.

I hope this is making sense.  As actress Katherine Hepburn said: “As one goes through life, one learns that if you don’t paddle your own canoe, you don’t move.”  Action and movement is all that counts.  I find that very interesting.  You don’t need motivation or a kick in the pants.  You don’t have to hit rock bottom.  Just do it.  Crazy, I know.  Check this out:
