The real lifestyle guru?  It can be easy to see the guys and gals in the spotlights and it seems like they have some super power but do they really?  I was reading through a book recently and a prolific author who’s sold over a million copies of his books was asked this: “What advice would you give to a smart, driven college student about to enter the real world?”  His reply back: “Don’t be intimidated by anything.”

In the vast majority of the professions and vocations, the people who succeed are not any cleverer than you.  The adult world is not full of gods, just people who have acquired skills and habits that work for them.  Wow, great advice, right?

Why vision boards and self prep talks will never hold the key to the good life.  Money doesn’t care if you have a vision board or tell yourself powerful affirmations, 24/7/365.  It’s not that those things are bad.  It’s just that money doesn’t care.  Making a great income is all about putting offers of value out into the world.

Need to make more?  Put bigger, better offers of value out there, more often.  Think of it this way.  A heart doctor doesn’t have to create a vision board or tell himself he’s awesome in order to pull in $450k a year but here’s the key insight.  You don’t have to be the creator of the offer.  You can use other people’s offers or assets.

A doctor may leverage a hospital as they have the tools, the staff and the patients keep coming through the doors.  A movie director leverages actors and well written scripts.  Someone who runs an e-Commerce business may leverage Amazon and someone in China makes their products.  Leverage, leverage and leverage.  Is this making sense?  You can do the same.

The True Cost Of Staying In The 9-5

Which decision can bring more free time, income and lifestyle?  Most miss this.  In business and in life, we all have expenses to consider.  Some are necessities to us including:

  • Transportation
  • Heat and air
  • Electricity
  • Home

In online business, it could be web hosting, an auto responder account, a domain name and so forth.  Grey line areas can come into play into something like investing in a program or tool that could:

  1. Increase your income
  2. Make our workload lighter
  3. Allow us to earn more/work less

We ask ourselves, “Is this worth it?”  You know what?  In my experience with this, it’s never the cost of something that is the most important, not by a long shot.  The true cost is what we are missing out on by not having this on our lives, right now.  If it’s a program that can bring you up to 6 figures over the next year, then the true cost is $10k per month you’re missing out on every month.  If you can do it part time from home, the true cost could be not doing that and staying stuck in a 9-5 cubicle for the next 10-20 years.  In a job you hate, around employees you don’t like and working for a boss-hole that doesn’t appreciate you could mean missing date nights, family vacations, pursuing hobbies and living life on your terms.  I hope this makes sense.  Crazy but most never really consider this.  If it’s helpful:
