Jane Austin’s Chick Flick And Your Job Hunt

I thought Pride and Prejudice was a good film.  Charlotte, like the Bennett sisters, only has one realistic way into a happy life: Marrying well.  Neither family is well-to-do and none of these young women have the entitlement to property that the young men do.  Their harried mothers gussy them up and show them off at balls and other social gatherings where there might be men in hopes of winning someone’s eye.

This is not entirely disagreeable to the girls.  Some of the men are real catches but other men are like Mr. Collins, calculated, condescending, self important and graceless Mr. Collins.  Not even the men like him very much.  Mr Collins proposes to Charlotte and poor Charlotte is reminded that she cannot count on a second proposal from another man.  She cuts her losses, pockets her hopes and says: “Yes, Mr Collins will have to do.”  I’m not saying that she was wise or foolish to decide what she did and I know that women have more opportunities to provide for themselves today than in the time and place of the story.

The tensions is alive and well in the job market for men and women.  Do you give up your hopes and desires, your personality for a “Meh” job?  How long can you hold out especially if you have loved ones to provide for?  They are all hard questions but we have a viable solution: Work with us.

You aren’t a damsel in distress waiting on the whim of some HR firm.  Click Funnels is for people who want to work with out killing themselves, make however much money they think they need and live happy lives.  Everyone has at least that much in common.

Field Of Online Dreams

Most internet marketers labor under the Field of Dreams Delusion.  If you build it, they will come.  This is wrong because if you build it, you still have to get them and bring them to what you’ve built.  You won’t have a long line of cars stretching out into the Iowa summer night waiting to get into your website.  No travellers coming to save your farm just because you built a cute little website.

I have a few dirty little internet secrets:

  • Nobody gets rich on free traffic
  • You have to go out to get traffic
  • You have to pay for traffic

So, once you’re ready to accept these harsh internet truths and the health of your bank account, the sooner the better.

Click Funnels will teach you how to start making money online.  These are not “gurus” with theories about how to get paying traffic.

These are real people making real money online.

When you’re ready to play the real online success game and not some Hollywood fantasy:

Popping Tums Over Your Business?

Getting leads or sales but not seeing your bank balance where you want it to be?  If you could have a billboard anywhere, what would it say?  Marc Andresen was recently asked this question.  Marc’s cranked out nearly as many successful businesses as the Beatles have crooned out #1 hits.  His response which brings out pure delight and bliss to my soul: “Raise prices.”

Yep, after billions and billions made and after consulting company after company, he decided he’d plaster those words front and centre in the heart of San Francisco.  There’s one teeny weeny thing Marky Marc said which I want you to tune in today.  Conventional Wisdom says, price cheap.  More people can buy.  You’ll get volume and can grow.  Time and time again, this is proven wrong because, this puts you into “Too hungry to eat mode.”
If you don’t charge enough?  Can you afford the sales and marketing required to get anyone to buy from you?  That is the point.  This is how you scale.  We’ve talked about this before, Traffic, Conversions and Economics.  You need traffic to send to your offer.  You need a mechanism to convert that offer to sales.  Perhaps, the most important piece of the puzzle, 98% are missing is that the economics must work out so you make a tidy profit and can keep the lights on.
So, if you’re selling a product for $47 and it’s costing you $75 to get a sale, you’re not going to be in business too long, right?  If your earning $1,000 per sale and you’re spending $300 in ads spend, sure you’re spending more on Ads but isn’t that better?  Much better?  Now you’re not losing money, you’re making money.  When you have this all dialled in?  Your biggest problem may be finding enough money to invest into your business which is a good problem.  This is how peeps go from $1k months, to $100k months.  They’re just increasing their ad spend because it’s churning out profits that allows them to do so.  Simple enough, right?  Let’s get you rolling ASAP.  Millions in big ticket commissions are being paid out month after month.  How long are you willing to wait before you start getting your share of the profits?

Mother’s Day Was Built On Copywriting

Do you know the entrepreneurial story behind Mother’s Day?  After giving a Sunday School lecture in 1876, Ann Reeves Jarvis prayed that someone would devote a day to celebrating Mothers for their tireless and thankless service to humanity.  30 years later, at the site of Ann’s grave, her daughter, Ann Jarvis promised that she would be the answer to that prayer.

Anna wrote letters to Mark Twain, Teddy Roosevelt and every person she could think of with a platform powerful enough to get the message out.  She wrote to the Governors of every state.  In 1908, she held the first Mother’s Day service.  By 1910, West Virginia declared it an official state holiday.  In 1914, the Congress and President Wilson passed a bill legally recognising the second Sunday of May as Mother’s Day.  Today, Mother’s Day is a $23.6 billion holiday.

Whatever you or Jarvis may think of what has become of Mother’s Day, the facts are simple: Good writing from a daughter of a West Virginia Sunday School teacher moved the powers that be to make change and the nation responded by emptying their pockets.

What could you make happen if you put your mind to it?  At Click Funnels, we’re no experts at starting holidays but we know how to make our friends money.

Big Numbers Seem Too Big For Your Britches?

I’m sorry about that.  Quick note for you today.  I know I toss around big numbers from time to time.  That’s because I know what’s possible for you and I only want the best for ya.  At the same time, I hope I haven’t overwhelmed you because sure big numbers are awesome.  Folks bringing in the big numbers is great but I just wanted to say this: It’s coming straight from my heart, please don’t overestimate the people on pedestals or their big numbers.

If we could get inside their heads, if we could look at their fears, doubts, how they get their early stats?  We’d realise most of the folks are just like us.  Nothing is stopping us or you from getting the same types of results for yourself.  You feeling me here?
Check out this quote from an old Steve Jobs interview: “Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact and that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you.  You can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.  Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”  I’d say that Bill is on to something there, you?
The key is to start.  Start, start and start.  That’s it.  That and believe in yourself.  Don’t give up.  I certainly believe in you and what’s possible in this exciting era we’re in right now.  Are you ready to begin, my friend?  This may be right up your alley.

Yes, tell me more.

The masses will not start.  They will hold the folks at where they want to be up on a pedestal and label them as special.  I know that’s not you thought.  Right?  Here’s to us movers and shakers and misfits of the world.

I’m a starter and I’m ready to start.
