Starting A Business Is Like Being A Mom

When most people think about starting an online business, they think about the Mom Option but they should be thinking about the Babysitter position.  Oh, you don’t know what I’m talking about?  Becoming a mom is hard.  It takes nine months of being a crazy person and then hours of painful delivery.  Then you embark on the hardest and most rewarding job you’ve ever done.

Can you imagine if I wrote blog posts asking people to go have children?  That would be crazy.  I want you consider what I call the Babysitter Option.  Babysitters get paid more than moms and they can stop whenever they want.  You put in whatever work you want to, make bank and the buck doesn’t stop with you.  You can easily live your own life.

Starting your own business will make you a crazy person for months and months before and you’ll be tempted to quit before it starts paying off.  To be honest, mothering a business is more than most people want to do.

Once You Learn The Birds And The Bees

There are two lessons that I think it is impossible to become an adult without learning.  First, the birds and the bees but we won’t talk about that here.  Second and more interesting is how to use a recipe in a recipe book.  Before you’re willing to and learn from people who have mastered food, you’re doomed to eat cereal, eggs, cold sandwiches and chicken in all it’s carious forms.  Good food will forever be either a magical mystery or something you can’t afford.  Cooking is not hard, it just requires humble submissions and a willingness to learn the way.  So, maybe it is hard for some people.

Unfortunately, even many people who cook don’t apply the lesson to marketing.  There’s a way.  When we teach it to our clients, they make commissions in the $1000s, $2000s and $4000s.  Heck if you haven’t learned how to cook, the least we can do is make you enough money so that you never have to.

It’s Just A Matter Of Time

When times are hard, a lot of people say that things will get better and that it’s only a matter of time but if you’re not taking active steps toward making things better, there are many things time won’t fix:

  • An unhealthy work situation
  • An aggravating team of co-workers
  • Not making a big enough paycheck to breathe easy or let your guard down
  • Your work schedule not lining up with your friend’s and loved one’s schedules.

The Rich Get Richer And The Poor Get Poorer Until Now

Unless you live in New Zealand, you might not have heard about why Apple is in hot water but if you keep reading to find out why, you’ll have the chance to be earning 6 figures in only a year from now.  It’s no secret that huge companies like Apple exploit loopholes in a tax code to increase how much money they take home at the end of the day but do you know just how much they actually do?
